Video Producer (Debates), BBC Russian Service
BBC World Service Group is an international multimedia broadcaster, delivering a wide range of language and regional services on radio, TV, online with a big focus on mobile.
As part of an historic and exciting expansion of the BBC World Service, BBC Russian is boosting its TV and digital offer to provide more mobile, and TV/video content and to further expand its social-media presence. Part of this expansion is the launch of a quarterly 60 minutes debate programme focusing on important and complex matters that interest our audience. The programme will be recorded on location.
We are now looking for an experienced Video Producer to join the BBC Russian service team in Moscow on a part time, flexible basis. The successful candidate will work a minimum of 33 days across a 3 month period.
The Video Producer plays a key part in the planning, organisation and recording of the new debates programme.
Duties will include:
· Make sure output conforms to highest editorial, visual and production standard and that the content is engaging, interesting and of relevance to the target area
· Pitching ideas and angles for the programme
· Find and recruit guests and audience members
· Working with the Senior Broadcast Journalist in London to ensure that the location/studio production and recording of pre-recorded programmes goes to plan, within schedule and budget
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience as a journalist with experience of video and/or TV production, editing and storytelling. You will have a proven track record in using video editing software and strong knowledge of relevant legal and editorial policy issues.
Good knowledge of news and current affairs for Russia and surrounding areas is a must.
Finally, you will be fluent in spoken and written Russian with an excellent command of English.
