Shoot Edit (Hausa)

We are looking to recruit a Shoot Edit to work in Abuja on a continuing contract.
Your role as Shoot Edit will include shooting and editing material for long and short form programmes (live or recorded), outside broadcasts etc. Editing may need to take place in the field, being fed back to base utilising the latest technology. You will advise on all aspects of camera coverage and editing throughout the production process and be a constant source of imaginative and realistic alternative filming and editing treatments.
The successful candidate will be required to travel at short notice and may be needed to work across Africa, sometimes for several days, as well as being asked on occasion to work in hostile environments.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be a fluent Hausa and English speaker and writer, with demonstrable experience of working in a news broadcasting environment. Knowledge of African news and current affairs is essential. You will have experience of filming, editing and packaging content for TV and digital platforms, with the relevant craft skills (camera work, lighting, editing). Excellent digital skills are important. You must be able to operate current broadcast technical equipment on location and at base, demonstrating a well-developed sense of visual awareness and a willingness to learn how to use new technology and kit.
