BBC World Service is an international multimedia broadcaster, part of BBC News, delivering a wide range of language and regional services and working increasingly with other parts of BBC News to serve global audiences. It uses multiple platforms to reach its weekly audience of 320 million globally, including TV, digital platforms including social media, AM, FM, shortwave, digital satellite and cable channels.
The Tamil service is a digital first service at the heart of the Asia region. They find innovative and distinctive ways of covering the key regional and global stories and at the same time, leading the way with strong original journalism.

We are looking for a Senior Presenter to join our Tamil service based in Delhi.
Your role is to produce and present live day-to-day TV and Digital content on BBC Tamil. You will broadcast in a timely, authoritative and engaging manner, ensuring you meet the BBC’s Editorial Guidelines and strict journalistic standards. You will present to a wide audience, making complex issues accessible and comprehensible. Presenting or co-presenting in both the studio or on location and reporting in the field on important events is a key part of this role. You will make the best use of new technologies, in particular around social media, to deliver journalism to our audiences.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background in a senior journalistic role, with a track record of presenting on-air and in the field. You will have a full command of Tamil (written and spoken) with a broadcast-standard level of English. An authoritative microphone voice and the ability to conduct live and pre-recorded interviews is essential. A track record of accuracy and impartiality and sound editorial judgement is important. You will also have a broad knowledge of social media markets and full understanding of BBC Social Media Guidelines.
