Senior Journalist (Multimedia) Business

Job Introduction

The Africa Business Unit produces business video and TV products for African audiences. This post will be based in London to produce content for and from francophone Africa.

 All BBC Africa Business Journalists work across platforms, on a multimedia website with a focus on digital video, text, interactivity and radio and TV services.

 Shift work may be required which could include early/late shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Role Responsibility

The Senior Journalist will be responsible for all aspects of the production from planning, content creation and broadcast of the programme. Duties include the production and presentation of live and recorded content, reporting, presenting, script-writing, packaging, translating and compiling TV Bulletins

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have first class communication and fluency in written and spoken English and French, with the ability to communicate effectively in an additional African language being an advantage.  As a Senior Broadcast Journalist you will have experience of reporting, researching, writing, translating, editing and adapting stories or programme material for TV, online and radio audiences. You will also have exceptional knowledge of and contacts within the business world, in particular stories that appeal to an African audience.
