Senior Broadcast Journalist (Planning), Beirut

We are looking for a Senior Broadcast Journalist with experience in Planning to join the Beirut team. This is a fixed term contract for 12 months on local terms and conditions.
Reporting to the Assignment and Planning Editors, you will plan coverage and specific story projects and commission stories from Regional Arabic Correspondents and Stringers as required. You will explore and pitch stories to be covered by regional correspondents and stringers in Lebanon, Syria and other parts of the region preparing and suggesting coverage plans for political, cultural, social and humanitarian events. You will also assist the Arabic Newsgathering, Planning and Assignment Editors in planning next day or longer term coverage, booking two-ways and packages from the bureau, correspondents in the field and a range of related tasks.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be a fluent Arabic speaker and writer, with an excellent command of English. You will have substantial experience in a senior journalistic role, with demonstrable knowledge in a planning capacity. Strong knowledge of regional and international news stories and issues, as well as forthcoming news events is essential. TV, digital media, radio and online production techniques and facilities knowledge is important.
12 months fixed term contract (local terms and conditions apply)
