Presenter (Arabic Television)
BBC Arabic provides news, current affairs and programmes on Radio, TV and Online to Arabic speaking audiences in the Middle East and across the world, 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The output is modern in style and outlook and adheres to BBC values of accuracy and impartiality. It has broad appeal, free from commercial, political and religious affiliations or pressures.
We are looking for a Presenter to join the Television team. This is a continuing contract requiring flexible working (predominantly nights).
As a Presenter, you are expected to present or co-present strands and sections of output in TV, online or radio as well as conduct interviews. You should have great interviewing skills and be able to get the best out of the most difficult programme guests. The ideal candidate will also be familiar with latest TV formats and have practical ideas about new ways of presenting the programme and engaging the audience.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate strong editorial judgement based on extensive journalism experience including experience of live broadcasting on radioor television. Fluency in both written and spoken Arabicis essentialwith the ability to communicate effectively in English. You will need a thorough understanding of issues in the Middle East and international affairs. A good broadcasting voice and on-screen presence are essential. The ability to interpret complex stories for a non-specialist audience is important.

Grade 89 / Proposed Band D

The maximum salary for this role is 52,759 per annum, inclusive of allowances
