Job Introduction

BBC Arabic is the largest BBC language service, providing news, current affairs and programmes on Radio, TV and Online to Arabic speaking audiences in the Middle East and across the world, 24 hours per day, and seven days per week.

The Arabic service aims to deliver the most distinctive, trustworthy and challenging journalism in Arabic in the world.  It aims to better reach and serve its Arabic speaking audiences, to explain the world and their place in it.  To achieve its ambition, BBC Arabic aims to get closer to its audience in the region.  This strategy has started years ago by establishing a number of bureaus in the region such as Cairo, Beirut, Tunis and now in Amman where some of its flagship day programmes will be produced later this year.

We are recruiting two Radio Presenters to join the team on fixed term contracts for 12 months.  You will be part of the exciting launch of the new bureau.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a fluent Arabic and English speaker, with demonstrable experience in a presenter journalistic role.  Knowledge of regional and international news and current affairs is essential.  You will have an excellent broadcasting voice and first class reporting skills.  An understanding of what works on radio and digital platforms is important.
