Field Producer, Arabic Newsgathering
BBC Arabic is the largest BBC language service, providing news, current affairs and programmes on Radio, TV and Online to Arabic speaking audiences in the Middle East and across the world, 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The output is modern in style and outlook and adheres to BBC values of accuracy and impartiality. It has broad appeal, free from commercial, political and religious affiliations or pressures.
We are looking for two Field Producers to join the team in London on continuing contracts.
Reporting to the Planning Editor, your role is to provide specialist and general coverage of events across the range of BBC outlets from BBC Arabic in English and Arabic to international and UK outlets by producing and supporting reporters who make original stories for TV, Radio and online. You will work across TV, radio and digital production to help BBC Arabic to expand the news agenda beyond the standard images and themes of the region which are more commonly reported, and to expanding the audience among under-represented groups.
Due to the nature of this role, we require candidates to work flexibly.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be a fluent Arabic speaker and writer with an excellent command of English. You will have a demonstrable journalistic background in TV, radio and / or online. A full understanding of the needs of the BBC’s growing digital output in the Arabic region, together with knowledge of current affairs in the target area and internationally is essential. You will be experienced in international deployments and breaking news stories and have a background of working in hostile environments. Experience of reporting and knowledge of the audience is required.

The maximum salary for this role is £45,000 inclusive of allowances
