Digital Senior Broadcast Journalist - The Comb Podcast (Part-Time)
We are looking for someone to manage the social media rollout, audience engagement, and performance analysis of the Comb Podcast on all social channels. You will maintain a clear understanding of what our audiences want, how they find, consume, and share stories, and ensure that our output across social media meets these demands. You will lead on measuring the performance of our content, generating evidence-based insights and recommendations that are used to shape future content and inform our editorial strategy.
The successful candidate lead and inspire a team to develop and deliver content, ensuring that it achieves the highest creative and editorial standards, delivers on time and on budget, with adherence to BBC guidelines.
In the digital senior broadcast journalist role you will be creating, managing and delivering social media strategy for the Comb Podcast. This includes identifying and contacting suitable influencers, bloggers and organisations to 'seed' the Comb Podcast to, engaging with online social communities and moderating comments.
You will be proficient and confident in the use of social media tools to carry out social media analysis, including a collation of social performance stats for roll outs. The role will also involve asset creation, collaborating as appropriate to ensure these are made and delivered in optimised ways across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube. You will also be keen to stay abreast of new tools techniques to manage social platforms.
We’re able to offer a flexible working schedule- either one day or two half day’s a week.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrable knowledge of Africa and international news
- A track record of imaginative and creative story- telling in radio and experience of using digital platforms to reach audience.
- Experience in making long form audio is highly desirable
- Demonstrable experience of using innovation to create impact for content
